In this paper, the importance of the technology perks will be identify for the best method of input and output for accuracy, convenience and quality; as well as different types of storage and the speed capabilities. Accuracy of Input Accuracy of data input is vital to businesses. A misunderstanding or inaccurate results can cause business interruptions and become costly. The method of data input is different for every situation. Printed questionnaires best method of input is the optical mark recognition.
The optical mark recognition is a form of special paper that scans into a reader and provides the results (Reynolds & Stair, 2006). A Scranton would be an example, of the paper used to scan in the answers. The test uses optical mark recognition to view the results. Long documents can be tedious to read. However, with the optical data reader the information would be easier to find by conducting specific word searches. Accurate data is input in different ways; however the accuracy of the input data will provide the convenience and quality of the output data.
Convenience and Quality Convenience and quality of output is imperative for the individual receiving the information. The results of the output could provide knowledge, opportunities, and pleasure. Different devices will have different methods of output. The convenience and quality of hand held computer would be like the personal digital assistant or smarts phones. The devices have the capability to provide daily business needs such as; checking email; view documents; managing appointment, etc. The touch screen on the smart phones provides ease of navigation.
Color photograph provide the convenience and quality of displaying a like capturing moment. The type of paper used to print out the pictures and the type of camera would play an important part on the quality of the photographs. The convenience of the type of camera and the photo printer would also determine the quality of the color photos. Resume and memo would depend on the type of paper or the form the information is provided, example, hard copy or electronically. The ability of sending a resume or a memo via email is more convenient than printing out several hard copies.
However, the quality of a formal resume without a hard copy diminishes. The chances of getting a job may or may not affect the type of paper used on the resume. Statistical report and a company annual report need to be display with prestige. The information containing is important for businesses to make decisions. PowerPoint presentation would be convenient to display the information as well as the hard copies to show the quality of the report. The methods of output data ease the ability to view convenience and quality information. On the other hand, the types of storage devices demonstrate the capabilities of storing such output information.
Types of Storage Storage devices are essential for information data. Depending on the individual’s circumstances, different methods of storage devices are sometimes favor more over the other. Storage area network links different devices such as hard disk, CD ROM, and floppy disk between computers over a network (Reynolds & Stair, 2006). Data on hard disk provides direct access to stored data (Reynolds & Stair, 2006). For example, saved file on the computer. Data on CD ROM is a disk that is commonly and up-to-date used to read data but cannot be modify (Reynolds & Stair, 2006).
For instance, songs and movies are save on CD’s and sold to the public, but the songs, or videos recorded cannot be manipulated. Floppy disk was the optimal way for view data before CD ROM (How Stuff Works, 2009). Floppy disk reads and writes information just like the CD ROM and displays the information on the computer screen. Random access memory is a where instructions or data is temporarily store (Reynolds & Stair, 2006). RAM is locate in the main circuit. RAM plays the role in the amount of memory available for programs (Webopedia, 2009). Magnetic tape is a common secondary storage (Reynolds & Stair, 2006).
The proper storage device the best fits the needs of the individual go hand in hand with the speed the information is delivered. Speed Busy individuals deals with a fast pace society and needs technology, such as computers, to have the same or fast speed to keep up with his or her pace. Processing characteristics, memory characteristics, and secondary storage methods plays a role in determining the speed of a computer. Depending on the activity of the computer is, the higher or more RAM would be need for speed. For instance, if an individual with the need of graphics, and games more RAM would need to be added to keep up with the speed.
Clock speed affect the machine cycle time by series of electronic pulses rate (Reynolds & Stair, 2006). The clock speed plays the role of how fast instructions will be executed. The slow the clock speed goes the faster the information follows through. The speed of the hard disk is base upon how much gigabytes the drive could contain. The speed of the information released by the CD ROM is slow down by the spindle motor to read the information on the disc (How Stuff Works, 2009). The floppy disk is run similar to the CD ROM. The floppy disk has a motor the spins the floppy disk.
Each component works adjacently to deliver in the information at its speed capabilities. Conclusion “Accurate input is critical to achieve the desired output” (Reynolds & Stair, 2006). Technology perks provide hardware such as computers to become more accessible, accurate, and convenient in the years to come. Overall, individuals seek accuracy of input, convenience, and quality of output, storage optimal options, and speed capabilities that are up to date with the latest technology perks.
